tech

writing again yesterday and today.  astonished when I whole heartedly imagine people writing novels before the internet and before computers.  (sort of including me if mine was better).  I look things up so instantly.  I cut and paste and search/find word patterns so constantly.  a) this we know is fundamentally changing reading habits and writing habits so why isn’t this fundamentally changing novel form b) maybe it’s only changing the ones we see in a lousy way, written so blithely, published so widely, books that skim the contours of old fashioned excellence c) but maybe there are others all obscure whose authors are using the tech as intently and impressively as I imagine the brainwork behind old novels that are intricate and know stuff just because must have been d) maybe the only difference is time out of the day watching television e) but I don’t believe television is separate from books anymore.
